UM Women leadership training planned for Jan. 19 at Industry
The Austin District United Methodist Women will have their annual Leadership Development program Jan. 19 at Industry UMC, 1914 Main St., Industry.
“Here I am, World” is the theme as women gather to discuss plans for the year ahead. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.
The group will specifically be looking at United Methodist Women Doing Green Mission as part of faithful mission caring for God’s creation.
The event will feature officer training sessions for each UMW officer, experienced and newly elected. A UMW 101 session will be taught in Spanish for members of the two Spanish-speaking circles in the district. Program resources for 2008 will be available.

Youth Servant Team forming for Summer 2008 Leadership
The Servant Team is a group of high school and college-age students, 16 to 21, who serve as the summer youth event staff members for the Southwest Texas Conference Council on Youth Ministry.
Servant Team is a chance for youths and young adults to develop leadership skills and grow in Christian discipleship.
Applications for Servant Team 2008 are now available at www.reachingyouth.org. Deadline for submission is March 3.
Border Mission Network event set for Feb. 8-10 in El Paso
The Methodist Border Mission Network Consultation is set for Feb. 8-10 in El Paso. “Embracing My Neighbor” is this year’s theme. The goal is to strengthen relationships and mutual ministry.
The event will offer a variety of workshops on issues related to immigration and human relations. Sessions will be led by community and church leaders from both sides of the border. Registration materials will be available soon at the El Paso District office, (915) 584-9494.
