Men’s Adventure 2008 features the
Rev. Mike Lowry as speaker
Men’s Adventure 2008, “Transforming Ministries,” is a three-day experience set for Feb. 29-March 2 at Mount Wesley Conference Center, Kerrville.
Attendees will learn how they can effectively help make true disciples of Jesus Christ through ministries that serve God by serving others. The weekend will be an adventure involving all in the process of transforming the church by reaching men for Christ.
The Rev. Mike Lowry, executive director of new church development and transformation for the Southwest Texas Conference, is to be the keynote speaker Friday evening. Other clergy leaders include the Rev. Robert Allen, Kerrville District superintendent; the Rev. Jim Austin, associate pastor of Westlake UMC, Austin; the Rev. Terrence Hayes, Victoria District superintendent; and the Rev. Virgilio Vasquez-Garza, San Antonio District superintendent.
All men and women will be heartened by this adventure, including laity and clergy. Clergy members will receive a 50-percent discount on their registration fee if accompanied by two or more laypeople from their congregations. Pastors, bring your laity! Laity, bring your pastors! This is a big-league event!
