Spiritual Formation Committee asking churches for pictures
The Southwest Texas Conference Spiritual Formation Committee is asking for photographs of your church in ministry within the community!
For this year’s annual conference session June 4-7, the Spiritual Formation Committee is working on a prayer wall at the back of the meeting area. The theme is “Connecting with our Communities.”
The committee wants to use photographs of Southwest Texas congregations engaged in ministry—connecting with their community.
If you have a photo or two, please e-mail a jpg copy to Randy Mahoney at rmahoney@umcswtx.org or umswtxcom@suddenlink.net, or mail hard copies to him at 16400 Huebner Road, San Antonio 78248-1693. It would be helpful if you included a one-sentence description of the act of ministry with the name of your church.
Help us share the vision of The United Methodist Church truly connecting with our communities—in many different ways! For more information, contact the Rev. Greg Hackett at g.hackett@windcrest.org.
Body Recall exercise class focuses on flexibility, balance
“If we are alive, we have movement potential, and movement is a must for all. It is life-giving.”
This quotation is from the Body Recall textbook, a new program beginning at First UMC, Corpus Christi. This exercise program was originally developed for older adults but is beneficial to all and is being offered to everyone.
The second 10-week session began March 17, but people can join anytime and not be left behind. Each 10-week session meets for one hour in the church gym three times a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9 a.m.
If you are 60 or older, Body Recall is free. The cost for everyone else is $20 for a 10-week session consisting of 30 classes.
Body Recall works to improve strength, agility, flexibility and balance.
For more information, call Sherry Benick at First UMC, Corpus Christi, at (361) 884-0391, ext. 216.
