San Benito UMs bless 200th shawl for prayer effort
The congregation of First UMC, San Benito, blessed its 200th prayer shawl Aug. 26.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry brings God’s love to family, friends and strangers. Prayer shawls have touched the lives of so many who may be hurting or going through a life crisis. The shawls are a reminder to them of God’s love and presence.
Sharing God’s love and the love of church family with others continues to bless not only the recipient but also those involved in praying, knitting and crocheting the shawls. As a part of the ongoing outreach of the church, the Prayer Shawl Ministry continues to touch peoples’ lives. Members invite you to be a part of this ministry with your prayers.
The McAllen District currently has 10 churches involved in the Prayer Shawl Ministry.
