Pastor thanks congregation for patience

Hi, everyone! I’m happy to be back. Going to Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University for course of study was not a highly anticipated event for me. I think that was the consensus of most of the pastors who attended the monthlong seminary study. We all feel a strong obligation to our churches and hate to be away for such a long time.
Having said that, I want to tell you that it was totally great! Much more than I ever expected. And I’m so glad because I would have been so disappointed if it had turned out to be just a “must do” exercise for the benefit of higher ups.
I have to admit that not having been in an academic environment for such a long time had me somewhat worried. Could I get back to the grind of homework, grades, and—OH MY GOD—finals?
Well, thank God, it turned out. The professors were excellent. The studies were even better, and I’m confident I came back a better pastor for the experience. And that’s what it’s all about.
Thank you for your patience in allowing me the time to go and learn.
