Take ‘Day Apart’ Nov. 3 for spiritual growth
A special event Nov. 3 planned by the Corpus Christi District United Methodist Women is to be at Wesley Community Center in Corpus Christi.
The Rev. Elizabeth Smith, pastor of First UMC, Donna, is to preside over a “Day Apart” as spiritual director.
The Wesley Community Center facilities are to be transformed into a retreat setting, complete with a labyrinth. The event is funded by a grant from Methodist Healthcare Ministries.
Registration fee is $15, with children (infants through 11 years old) free. Registration is limited to the first 125 registrants.
Wesley Community Center is on a five-acre tract off Horne Road between Prescott and Greenwood Streets.
Schedule is as follows:
8:30-9:15 a.m.: Sign-in and refreshments.
9:15 a.m.: Gathering music.
9:30-10 a.m.: The Rev. Elizabeth Smith—Rest-Reflect-Rejuvenate.
10:15-11 a.m.: Breakout session I.
11:15 a.m.-noon: Breakout session II.
12:15-12:45 p.m.: Lunch.
12:45-1:15 p.m.: Smith—Praying in color.
1:30-2:15 p.m.: Breakout session III.
2:30-3 p.m.: Smith—Walking with Jesus.
Closing service of Holy Communion.
