Buda churchwomen plan to charter
UMW unit during Nov. 17 ceremony
Austin District United Methodist Women are to charter a new unit at Buda UMC Nov. 17 at 10 a.m.
Buda churchwomen are to join nearly 1 million other UMW members as they seek to fulfill the UMW PURPOSE: “The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.”
UMW members raise some $20 million a year for programs and projects related to women, children and youths in the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world.
